Web UI: sending a message from the empty state does nothing until New session is clicked #8

On a freshly installed tester VM the kimi web page opens in the empty state: the session list says "No sessions yet" and the main pane says "Select a session or start a new conversation", with a message input at the bottom showing "Awaiting input". Typing a message there and pressing enter does nothing: no session is created, the text just stays in the box, and there is no error. Clicking "New session" first and then sending the exact same text works normally (session created, agent answers, workspace files panel fills in). Expected: sending a message from the empty state should start a new session carrying that first message. Seen 2026-06-12 on a fresh tester install, web header shows hero_kimi v1.8.0.
